Steve Olson

Click to Enlarge    Steve Olson is no stranger to the grocery business.  He started his working career in 1968 at Piedmont Piggly Wiggly in Duluth Minnesota.  Steve worked at "The Pig" during his high school days, while attending college at UMD.  In 1979 Steve and his wife Nancy moved to Spooner, where he was hired as the store manager of the Spooner Piggly Wiggly.(An arch enemy of the Schmitz organization for many years). After a series of store closings, and new grocery store construction from 1980 to 1987-Steve and Dave Schmitz struck a deal and Steve moved from the "friendly competitor" status to a Schmitz's Super Valu Discount Foods employee.  Now at the companies new location and newly remodeled store, Steve still enjoys the status and prestige of  "Store Manager".
Steve is similar to the famous Will Rogers who once said "I never met a man I didn't like".  However, Steve has modified that slightly.  There are a few people he doesn't dislike - he just doesn't ever want to see them again.
